My Name is Dakota, and this is Wildhoney Photos.
Photography has always been a passion of mine. At a risk of sounding cliche and un-authentic, I always remember having a camera in my hand. After a string of good grades my freshman year of high school my dad bought me my first ever crop DSLR Nikon D35000. That camera would lead me on through 10 years, 50,000 pictures and my very first paid wedding. I fell in love with Nikon and bought my new Z6II in January of 2024 after having an incredible first year of my photography business. In April off 2024 I would go on to run that same brand new camera over with my husbands lifted 2 ton Tundra.
While that moment seems to encompass what it’s like to own a business, the highest highs and the lowest lows, I wouldn’t trade any of my experiences for the world. Every experience is a chance to learn, grow and experience new things. Thus the name Wildhoney was born. Life is so crazy and wild yet so sweet. Every wedding I have done and person I have met has been an absolute pleasure in its own way.
You know my why, but who am I? Well, I am DakotaRae, born in Wisconsin but raised in Vail Valley Colorado. My parents wanted a life of adventure and the outdoors for me and it has truly made me who I am. The mountains inspired me to conquer new things every day, and I cannot imagine a life without the outdoors. I currently live in Montana, on my journey to experience every part of the great outdoors. I spend my days hiking and playing under the Big Sky with my beautiful son, my wonderful husband, and our little brown dog. I aspire to capture weddings and special moments within nature and showcase how it has changed the people who breathe it in.
I aim to capture all of life’s sweet adventures.
